When are the NATED exams?
Exams are held in June and November of each year. Sometimes the June exam window can start as early as May and end in June. The same with the November exam sitting – it can start in October and stretch into June.
What is the NATED exam registration cut off date?
You should register for the June exam by 22 February. Registration for the November exam closes on 1 August. You should enter using the IBTC Exam Entry form. You will only be eligible to enter for the exam if you have an ICASS mark. This means that all your assessments should have been submitted and mark by the exam entry closing date.
Where do I sit my exam?
You should write your exam at the IBTC campus in Sandton or Cape Town. If you are unable to attend these centres, we can make arrangements for you to sit at one of our partner centres. Some partner centres are free, while others may incur an additional fee for you to pay. IBTC is growing its partnerships across the country. Please find out from Student Services which free centres are available and which ones attract an additional fee.
Do I need to pay an exam fee?
Your course fee includes one free exam at one of our campusses or (free) partner colleges. Should you fail and wish to rewrite your exam, it will attract an additional exam fee.
If I have an existing NQF 4 qualification, can I start at N5?
No, everybody has to start at N4. And you need the relevant N4 qualification to continue to N5 of that qualification. There is no exemptions process on the NATED programme that gives recognition or advanced placement based on student's existing qualifications.
