Operational Level is widely known as the most challenging stage of the FLP journey. It also tends to have the lowest pass rates internationally. The reason for this is fairly straightforward.

This is the level where students are required to build a strong technical foundation across multiple competencies, often while adjusting to a new way of learning and being assessed. The shift from learning content to applying it in a case study exam format can be a difficult transition.

While the FLP platform provides all the required material, many students benefit from additional structure and guidance to fully grasp the content and apply it with confidence.

What is FLP SkillUp?

FLP SkillUp is a set of targeted learning add-ons designed to support students at each stage of their FLP journey.

Rather than adding more content or complexity, the focus is on providing structured, level-appropriate support that helps students strengthen their understanding, close knowledge gaps, and prepare more effectively for their case study exams.

The aim is simple: to give students the best possible chance of passing their case study exams.

 

How FLP SkillUp supports you at each level

One of the key strengths of SkillUp is that it recognises that students need different types of support at different stages.

Operational Level: Building the foundation

At Operational Level, the focus is on building strong technical understanding.

Students attend a series of structured, competency-based classes delivered weekly over nine weeks. Each session focuses on key areas that are directly relevant to the case study exam, helping students to properly understand the content they are working through on the FLP platform.

The intention is not to replace the platform, but to reinforce it by giving students the clarity and confidence they need before moving into exam preparation.

Because this level forms the foundation for everything that follows, getting it right early on makes a significant difference to overall progress.

Management Level: Strengthening performance

By the time students reach Management Level, the need shifts from structured teaching to more focused refinement.

SkillUp at this stage provides pre-recorded lectures across the core pillars (E, P and F), along with mock exams that allow students to test their understanding and identify any weak areas.

This targeted approach helps students refine their technique and approach the case study exam with greater confidence.

Strategic Level: Preparing for final success

At Strategic Level, the emphasis is on performance and exam readiness.

Students have access to focused revision content and mock exams aligned to the expected standard, allowing them to fine-tune their approach and ensure they are fully prepared for the final stage of the qualification.
