• Toronto Pact Opens Doors, Dual Designations Elevate Prospects

CIMA and the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada (CPA Canada) have joined hands, breaking traditional boundaries and forming a remarkable new partnership. This collaboration ushers in a new era of possibilities for accountants seeking to amplify their careers on a global scale.

This memorandum centres on the concept of reciprocal membership between CIMA and CPA Canada. Members of either body can now simultaneously access the benefits of the other, adopting a relevant professional designation that aligns with their expertise, while meeting specific criteria.

This collaboration aims to enrich the spectrum of employment opportunities available to members from both organisations. By uniting two esteemed bodies of accounting and finance professionals, the door is swung open for employers and clients alike to tap into a diverse reservoir of expertise.

CIMA members will need to only complete a few designated sections of the CPA Profession's Common Final Examination to become recognised by the CPA.

This is inspiring news for CIMA members looking to move abroad and could open the door for similar pacts between professional bodies going forward.
