To gain entry to the Finance Leadership Programme (FLP) you either need to have a CIMA Certificate, be a CIMA student at Operational Level or have a Bachelor's degree or higher.
FLP SkillUp is an optional add-on to your FLP subscription, designed to give you extra learning support at key points in your journey.
It provides additional, structured resources that work alongside the your FLP subscription, helping you strengthen your understanding, build confidence, and prepare more effectively for your case study exams.
SkillUp is tailored to each level of the FLP, so you get the right type of support at the right time:
• Operational Level focuses on strengthening technical competence and case study readiness through live, competency-based classes.
• Management and Strategic Levels provide targeted performance support through pillar-focused content and exam practice.
FLP SkillUp doesn’t replace your FLP learning, it enhances it. It’s designed for students who want extra structure, deeper reinforcement of key concepts, and a stronger foundation to help them pass first time.
Each level of the CIMA FLP route culminates in a Case Study exam, which integrates the knowledge, skills and techniques from across the three pillars into one synoptic capstone examination.
At the Operational level, the role simulated is that of an entry level finance professional and the capstone Case Study exam provides a simulated context, which allows candidates to demonstrate that they have acquired the required knowledge, skills, techniques and mindset for that role.
On the FLP programme, you are required to complete all the learning and the competencies, and complete all the continuous assessment activities to gain access to the Case Study exam.
Each case study exam is a three hour long computer based exam. There are four windows a year when you can sit your case study exams (February, May, August and November). Within each window, exams will be available for three days from Wednesday to Friday. Exams can be sat at a Pearson Vue exam centre or at home. Information about a fictitious company is released 6 weeks prior to the exam, which forms the basis of your Case Study exam and is called the 'pre-seen material'.
CIMA's FLP programme is a 3rd party programme delivered by CIMA, not IBTC. As such, the FLP programme does not fall under the IBTC Pass Assured Promise.
However, if you have purchased FLP Premium, then the Virtual Classes you have purchased as part of your FLP package do fall under our Pass Assured Promise Policy.
Make sure you understand all the steps in our 'success recipe' and what you are eligible to receive before you commence your studies. This way you'll know what you need to do to qualify for our Pass Assured Promise.
Requirements differ between courses and study methods. In the event of conflicting information about Pass Assured Promise, our Ts & Cs will prevail.
