The IBTC Open Days are extremely popular. "Long queues and packed rooms are not uncommon for us, so come early" says Tiffany, who arranges these student-centric days three times a year.
Our Open Days attract newbies and oldies - those thinking of studying CIMA or ACCA and want to find out more about the value of the qualification and how it all works, and those who are already studying but want to connect with a lecturer, see what's new at the college and find ways to study less and score higher.
"We always aim to bring something new to our Open Day," says Tiffany. In the past IBTC has had free trial classes for students to see the lecturers in action. In 2015 the focus was on the syllabus change and helping students to transition with ease. Earlier this year we introduced a special Case Study focus, because we saw that our Case Study students were outperforming students globally and we wanted to share that with others. For our June Open Day, we're tackling the question of completing a level in a year, sensibly.
"We have strong recommendations on how students should tackle their studies. We look at what successful students and serial-failing students do and from this we infer best practices which we like to share with our student based at our Open Days," says Pamela MacQuilken, who is tasked to monitor and drive pass rates and progression.
