ICB is an Independent External Examination Body for Accredited Business Qualifications in Southern Africa since 1931. Their role is to create pathways for students to obtain valuable business studies skills for employment that are endorsed by credible Business Qualifications. The ICB is an appointed Quality Assurance Partner for QCTO who is authorised to conduct examinations on a number of Registered Qualifications that are on the NQF.

Written exams can be taken in July and November. Exams can also be taken online at home in April, June, Aug, Oct, Dec and Feb of each year. The ICB examines Business Literacy at three NQF levels (3, 4 and 5) in one subject. The three levels have been bundled into one subject and the PoE and final exam will cover all three.The ICB academic year runs from 1 April to 31 March every year. This means your last exam on your existing study material will be in April of each year, and the first exam on the new study material will be from June onwards.

Do any programmes include the same subjects?
When you look at the courses in detail, you'll see that certain subjects are common in all of them. These are the subjects that give you the most essential skills, no matter which programme you choose.
Do shared subjects count for different qualifications?
ICB qualifications are modular, which means you can build on them as your studies or career progresses. You can also qualify in another programme just by completing a few more subjects.
Do I need a Matric certificate to study with ICB
No, certain ICB qualifications do not require a matric.
